COPPERHEAD COUNTY
Homebound (2022)

Another salutary salvo with this "Homebound" from the Dutch group Copperhead County, after a five-track EP "Enjoy the Ride" in 2019, then their excellent "Brothers" released in 2020 with its magnetism gleaned from the Outlaws and Blackberry Smoke. Copperhead County has a knack for producing old-school yet more contemporary Southern rock that keeps a lot of people happy with this explosive mix. Unlike the previous album, this "Homebound" consisting of ten titles has a more punchy aspect that we feel from the first title "Sunny", with beautiful incisive guitars. In two, the title "Dreams of the South" transcends the album by its mastery of a technical exhibition close to what the Allman Betts Band is currently doing. Then "Quickjaw" offers a beautiful cavalcade of guitars, before a very tonic that rocks, with the titles "Enjoy the Ride" and "Queen of Vegas", then a sound atmosphere that will adore the unconditional fans of the modernist southern rock of Blackberry Smoke on the tracks "JamMan" and "Alpharetta Rain", and in apotheosis "Sound of Summer". Everything is sung with ease by Corvin Silvester, the feeling of guitarist Robert Van Voorden ignites the affair, as well as the creeping organ of Jordy Duitscher, with a very solid bass/drums rhythmic foundation. Currently, in old Europe, when it comes to southern rock, if not quantity, quality takes precedence, with bands from the Netherlands like Copperhead County and Lewv Band's Lef. In the same way, in our hexagon, Natchez and Calibre 12 will mark the year 2022 with their very beautiful productions with ample radiations of guitars. It's only happiness for ears well weathered to southern rock.
